THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 1 AT MOONEE VALLEY ON SATURDAY!

Race 1 Moonee Valley 1.40 Unflinching (1/1)

Promising colt who made a perfect start winning on debut over this trip at Mornington back in October last year; backed that up winning convincingly over C&D when last seen in November; good chance to make it 3-3 here.

I can see UNFLINCHING going off really short at Moonee Valley on Saturday. He has an unblemished record having made it 2-2 winning over track and trip when last seen. He has plenty of upside and is open to further improvement so looks to have found a good opportunity to bring up the hat-trick. He is likely to go forward under Damien Thornton and even though this looks tougher he is going to take a lot of pegging back. Dutch Of Savoy is a nice filly and she won impressively at Sandown on return so has to be feared as the main danger. The Superintendent has won 2 of his last 3 but this requires another big step up and he might come up short here but could be one to follow down the line.

Race 6 Yarra Valley 4.56 Paper Dragon (6/4)

Likeable filly who took her form up a notch to win well at Geelong on penultimate start last month; things didn’t go to plan last time but did have excuses; open to further improvement and this looks very winnable.

We head over to Yarra Valley in the early hours of Saturday morning for our second best bet Down Under and PAPER DRAGON looks a standout for Henry Dwyer and Mitchell Aitken. She won nicely on penultimate start and if returning to that sort of form she should have too much for this bunch. The fact Tantilizer is second fav says a lot about the race as she has just the 1 win from 25 starts so while she should keep the fav honest she is more likely to place than spring an upset (placed 9 times from 25 starts). It’s A Rah has a bit of a better strike rate and ran well when second at Mornington so may well emerge as a greater danger. Fight For Victory remains fairly unexposed so is also worth noting.
