NAP – Best selection of the evening
Doncaster 2.10 Miranda (1/1)
Likeable mare who did well to get up knuckling down bravely at Ludlow last month; won this readily last year by over 4 lengths and looks sure to go well again with Bryony Frost now in the saddle; difficult to oppose.
With 3 wins from her last 6 runs MIRANDA should defend her crown here. She won it impressively last year and has plenty in her favour again with Bryony Frost taking over in the saddle. She will strip fitter again and showed a cracking attitude to get up at Ludlow last month. The second Voice Of Calm has won impressively since so the form has been franked. The danger looks to be Anna Bunina. She could only manage fifth behind Tommy’s Oscar on return at Musselburgh but should come on for that and is likely to give the selection something to think about at least. Miss Heritage is consistent and should give her running but that is unlikely to be good enough especially against the favourite.

Cheltenham 3.40 Hillcrest (13/8)
Progressive sort who dotted up at Wetherby and improved again to win impressively over C&D last time, asserting in good style up the hill; concedes weight all round but has more to come and is an exciting prospect.
I’ve made no secret of my love for HILLCREST and I’ll be hoping he can make it 5 in a row at Cheltenham on Saturday. That is a strong piece of form beating I Am Maximus 2 lengths and with scope to keep improving he can give weight and a beating to these rivals. The main danger looks to be Balco Coastal for Nicky Henderson. He is 2-2 over hurdles and impressed again at Ludlow last month. He should enjoy going up in trip and looks the one to give the favourite a race. North Lodge knew his job to win on debut but this requires another step up and he might just need more time and experience to be seen to best effect. A Different Kind is on a real roll but again this is definitely tougher.

The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Doncaster and Cheltenham on Saturday afternoon.
