THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT LAUNCESTON ON SUNDAY!

Race 5 Launceston 3.20 Bello Beau (5/6)

Promising sort who made a winning start at Hobart, justifying strong support; improved again to win convincingly at the same venue last month; getting better with experience and looks well placed to bring up the hat-trick.

The two unbeaten horses look the way to go here and I’m keen on BELLO BEAU making it 3/3. He progressed from a winning debut to score impressively last time and up in trip slightly he is going to take a lot of beating again. He has early speed to burn so should jump lively and get across from the wide draw just like he did last time. The obvious danger is Jaguar Stone who also won on debut. She impressed on that occasion coming from off the pace and also looks to have a bright future but I just think the selection is the safer bet at this stage. Of the rest Piiink Beauty has showed ability in 3 starts to date but does need to find more to trouble the principals. Remuda could go well but needs more.

Race 6 Port Macquarie 5.45 Alibi Dot Com (11/10)

Improving mare who caught the eye finishing a promising third on debut at Taree so no surprise to see her progress from that to win gamely over C&D last month; scope to kick on again and very much the one to beat in this.

Sometimes you can get value in a favourite and I think that’s the case here as 11/10 looks a nice price about the progressive ALIBI DOT COM at Port Macquarie. She impressed last time swooping from off the pace and with more to come she should make it 2 wins from just 3 starts. She’s Contrary won at Scone but then could only finish fourth of six at Wyong last time. If she bounces back she is the danger but a bit to prove off the back of that last run. Xtra Approval would have to be feared as well on his best form but did go off the boil here last time. Similar comments apply to Mr Pointer as well having finished last at Armidale but his previous run at this track was good so place claims for sure.
