NAP – Best selection of the evening
Wolverhampton 7.00 Across The Nile (7/4)
Progressive filly who impressed making a winning debut for this yard over C&D 11 days ago, taking it up with 2f to go and galloping out well; only up 2lb so hat-trick very much on the cards with this likely run to suit.
Dubai Lady finished lame when disappointing at Newcastle so if she bounces back she will be a danger but I think she has enough to prove and ACROSS THE NILE is thriving so gets the vote. She hit the line hard last time and the hat-trick looks to be on the cards now. She should get a lovely toe in off Queen Of Burgundy and if she kicks on like she did last time around the 2f pole I’m not sure anything is going well enough in here to go with her. Camelot mare Crown Power was a creditable third at Kempton and she is potentially on a good mark but I don’t think she puts it all in and I have my reservations. The rest are all big odds and I don’t really see there being an upset here if the fav fires again.

Newcastle 1.00 Tfou (2/1)
Promising sort who was heavily supported on debut but inexperience got the better of him with the penny only dropping late running on well for second; winner franked the form since; hard to beat on hurdles debut.
I was given good word for TFOU on his debut in a bumper at Ayr and despite being heavily punted he could only finish second. Inexperience clearly cost him that day and by the time the penny dropped the race was over. He ran on well but was never able to challenge. The winner Burn The Evidence won her next start on debut over hurdles by 21 lengths so the form was certainly given a nice compliment. I know she has since been turned over at short odds but she had excuses that day. The selection looks sure to improve on hurdles debut and this looks a good starting point with Brian Hughes in the saddle. With Hasty Brook now out Hidden Heroics looks to be the greatest danger.
Daily Double
