Race 6 Strathalbyn 5.30 Inspired Sun (5/6)

Ran on strongly from last to win with a bit in hand over track and trip last month; hard to oppose off the back of that and still has scope to improve further especially over this trip; definitely worth keeping safe against these.

The Australian NAP was back in the winners enclosure overnight and hopefully we can make it back-to-back wins on Wednesday morning as we head to Strathalbyn. The likeable INSPIRED SUN ran them all down over C&D last time and a similar performance off top-weight here should see him have too much for them in the closing stages. He really hit the line hard and is clearly thriving right now. The danger is probably Beerz With Clint but surprisingly he only has the 1 win from 32 starts which has to be concerning. Wounded Soldier is starting to look exposed but at least comes here in winning form and has to be noted. Vivaldi’s Quest is another one who is worth a second look in here.

Race 9 Sandown 8.00 The Garden (6/4)

Progressive sort who went down just a neck on return at Caulfield in a race that was worked out very well since; too keen at Flemington last time but better than that and can get firmly back on track against this field.

We head to Sandown or our Australia NB overnight and THE GARDEN looks primed to strike for Symon Wilde and Joe Bowditch. This horse has 3 wins from 8 starts including 4 placed efforts so has done little wrong so far. He ran huge on return at Caulfield and then just pulled too hard at Flemington last month. If he can settle better he will be finishing fast and I think he appeals as the most likely winner against these. I think the front pair have it between them so that makes Rapid Achiever the obvious danger. She has won 3 of her 4 starts and while this is tougher her form has also been franked recently so she has to be feared. Shotmaker is also a decent yardstick and looks comfortably best of the rest.
