AUSSIE BETS BACK ON MONDAY! Racing Down Under to start a new week from Quirindi, Queanbeyan and Newcastle. Overnight Double pays 6/1!

Race 5 Quirindi 6.10 Vandangle (6/4)

Likeable type who is 2 from 3 over this trip and looks to be improving fast now with 3 wins from his last 4 starts; well backed last time and looks up to justifying favouritism again here; most likely winner.

Quite a big field for this but I have no doubt VANDANGLE is the one to beat. He has won 3 of his last 4 starts and has a progressive profile heading into this. He drops in grade with a 2kg claim and even with a sticky gate should prove a cut above these. Heredero is exposed compared to the selection but didn’t run badly when fourth at Scone last time so looks one of the main dangers off the back of that. Bridges To Babylon is just the 1 win from 17 attempts and is 0/2 over this trip so has enough to prove. I’m not sure why she is so prominent in the betting to be honest. Ben Shoof best of the rest after finishing second at Gunnedah but definitely needs a big run to win this as the fav looks hard to beat.

Race 1 Newcastle 4.15 Taksu (7/4)

Promising sort who continues to improve and impressed winning at Rosehill last time; that was a better race than this so he should push forward and dictate again; hard to catch and should have too much for these rivals.

I’m confident TAKSU is the best value bet of the day Down Under on Monday. He impressed last time and won’t even need to better that to win this. He is 3 from 9 over this trip but that also includes 4 placed efforts and he ticks a lot of boxes here. Even with a 3kg rise in the weights he looks well treated and he should get all of these in trouble. Rustic Steel is also a nice horse and is the one I expect to fight it out with the selection. He won on first crack over this trip last time and has more to come so if you wanted some insurance a reverse forecast might be the way to go. Of the rest Poetic Charmer might be value to place. He is exposed but has some decent form and should run a nice race.
