NAP – Best selection of the evening
Lingfield 3.40 Existent (11/10)
Reinvented as a sprinter by new yard winning impressively at Chelmsford before following up convincingly despite an 11lb rise at Wolverhampton; further 7lb rise here but ceiling yet to be reached; hat-trick beckons.
The NAP won head in chest yesterday and hopefully we can add another winner on Saturday as we head to Lingfield. The hat-trick seeking EXISTENT looks hard to oppose for Stuart Williams. He defied a fairly big rise easily at Wolverhampton back in February and off a 7lb higher mark here he looks well placed again to salute the judge. Night On Earth franked the form winning at Kempton last time and he could be the one to chase him home again. Strong Power rattled off a hat-trick over C&D in January but the handicapper looks to have him where he wants him for now. Of the rest One Night Stand might go better than his odds are suggesting but hard to see him springing an upset.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER IN IRELAND AT LEOPARDSTOWN!
Leopardstown 2.35 Dr Zempf (13/8)
Smart colt who looked a nice prospect winning on debut and caught the eye in defeat pitched into Group company on just his second start; excellent second to Ebro River at the top level; type to do better again now.
I’m expecting DR ZEMPF to prove a cut above these. He is officially rated 7lb clear of Glounthaune and I expect him to make a winning return for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane. He has only had 4 starts so could still improve further now as a 3yo. Aidan O’Brien’s 3yo is obviously the danger as he also has the potential to progress further now. I think the pair will battle this out so the market looks to have it spot on. New Energy is well bred and made a bright start winning on debut but he struggled last time behind Glounthaune so has enough to find. Mctigue has won at this track so that has to be a plus. The yard have won the last two renewals so it will be interesting to see how he goes in the betting.
