THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 6 AT CRANBOURNE ON FRIDAY MORNING!

Race 6 Cranbourne 10.45 Yaphet (1/1)

Promising sort who has won 2 of his last 4 now and showed a great attitude to prevail by a nose last time; peak fitness now and can still improve further so this looks a great opportunity to follow up.

This should be a good race between YAPHET and Archons Ensemble but I’m keen to side with the former who looks a great bet. He won narrowly last time but looks on the upgrade now and with more to come can make it 3 wins from his last 5 starts. He will get settled back and look to run them all down in the closing stages. Archons Ensemble shaped promisingly when third on return but still looks to need more. Heir To The Throne is respected on exposed form but is out of sorts following that disappointing effort at Caulfield. He was still a bit flat here last time. Pepper’s Ghost is respected but again needs more on what we’ve seen recently especially at Sandown last time.

Race 6 Geelong 6.30 Riddlero (5/4)

Progressive form chasing a hat-trick now following wins at Wodonga and here last time; open to further improvement and granted usual luck in-running can go in again; looks one to keep firmly on side.

With 4 wins and 4 places from just 8 runs it is hard to get away from RIDDLERO at Geelong on Friday morning. He is a horse firmly on the upgrade and I see no reason why he won’t bring up the hat-trick here. He should get a nice toe in just off the pace from an inside draw and looks comfortably the most likely winner. Water Into Wine is the danger and he has 2 wins from 5 starts. Nice yardstick but lacks the potential the favourite brings. Sebastian The Fox won at Kilmore last time and is respected too but definitely needs more as this is tougher. Kapalua Sunset has gone off the boil since winning at Kyneton but if she bounces back she might have a squeak in here but enough to prove on the balance.
