NAP – Best selection of the evening
Wolverhampton 3.20 Yonafis (5/6)
Golden Horn colt who was a perfect 2-2 as a 2yo and given time to strengthen up and mature since he looks hard to oppose on reappearance; opening mark of 88 underestimates him and can stay unbeaten.
I know we’re not getting much of a price but that’s with good reason as YONAFIS looks set to make it a perfect 3-3 for William Haggas. This son of Golden Horn has looked very promising and tackling handicap company now with further improvement to come he can remain unbeaten. He made all the running on final start at Chelmsford so if this turns tactical I think Stevie Donohoe will just send him on. He should have a bit in hand off a mark of just 88 and I’m confident he can prove too good. Aswan impressed winning at Goodwood on handicap debut but failed to back that up at York and has a bit to prove. It’s still early days though and a hood might help him settle so still the main danger.

Nottingham 4.45 Canterbury Bell (6/4)
Ribchester filly who looked a work in progress as a 2yo and was handed the race in the stewards room on final start at Newmarket; likely to have improved plenty since and step back up to a mile in her favour; keep safe.
Hopefully William Haggas has a good day on Tuesday as he also saddles our NB over at Nottingham CANTERBURY BELL. This filly looked very promising as a 2yo running on well before getting the race in the stewards room at Newmarket on final start. She looked like whatever she achieved last year would be a bonus as she is sure to strengthen up and make a better 3yo. There is rain forecast and I think that would enhance her claims here on return. The danger looks to be Cityscape colt Guilin who did well to win by a nose at Kempton but let backers down badly last month at Beverley. If he bounces back he will give the selection a race but a bit to prove. Letter Of The Law best of a mediocre rest.
