THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN THE LUCKY LAST AT HAWKESBURY ON THURSDAY!
Race 9 Hawkesbury 7.35 Sepoy Star (5/4)
Good looking chestnut mare who made a bright start winning on debut at Kembla Grange and backed that up with a big run in defeat when runner-up at Randwick when last seen; won a recent trial; can win on return.
Hard to look past SEPOY STAR here following a recent trial win. We haven’t seen her since last summer but given plenty of time to grow into her frame I’m expecting her to be much improved now. This looks a good opportunity and for me she is by far and away the most likely winner which is why we aren’t getting much of a price. Divine Okay brings winning form to the table having won at Goulburn and has fitness on side so looks the danger. She likely lacks the star potential the favourite brings to the table though. Tocomah remains a nice horse in the making but has a bit to prove after finishing last at Kembla Grange on final start as a 3yo. Wuddacuddashudda best of the rest but unlikely to seriously threaten.

Race 10 Rockhampton 7.42 Police (6/4)
Progressive sort who comes here chasing a hat-trick of wins after running on strongly here on return and then backing that up at Mackay last month, nicely on top at the finish; more to come so hard to oppose.
The likeable POLICE has really come into his own since joining this yard and going back up in trip again is only going to suit judging by the way he has been seeing out his races recently. He looks an improved individual and I’m expecting him to take all the beating again. He will likely race handy from a wide draw and should take plenty of pegging back. Mustafa has just the 1 win from 15 starts and is second in the betting so that says a lot about the lack of quality on show. He should run well but I’m struggling to see him seriously troubling the selection. Tontein is pretty exposed but does have 4 wins to his name. Out of form recently though so a bit to prove still. Burgundy Rules best of the rest.
