Saturday’s American Horse Racing Tips
Sky Sports Racing have live coverage of US Racing tonight and I’ve covered FIVE meetings and picked out my best bets.
AMERICAN NAP LANDED LAST NIGHT! Best bet on a hat-trick now heading into the Preakness Stakes tonight from Pimlico. My Daily Double pays 7/2!
NAP – Best selection of the evening
MY US NAP WON AGAIN LAST NIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 13 AT PIMLICO ON SATURDAY!
Race 13 Pimlico 12.01 Epicenter (1/1)
Exciting colt who is improving all the time and ran huge in the Kentucky Derby going down less than a length at the line to a deep closer; hard to beat if that race hans’t left a mark and should have too much for these.
A decent renewal of the Preakness but I can’t get away from EPICENTER for Steven Asmussen. This colt is still open to further improvement and as long as the Kentucky Derby hasn’t left a mark he should have this field covered. He is thoroughly progressive and I love the way he grabs the ground. Early Voting won’t hang about so that should give him a nice target to run down in the closing stages. The latter may well emerge as the danger as he has won 2 from 3 and looks promising himself. Secret Oath is another one to note having won 4 of her last 5 but this is a strong race and she’ll likely need to progress again following her Kentucky Oaks win to stop the favourite thundering home best.

NB – Second best selection of the day
MY US NEXT BEST IS STILL CHASING A DOUBLE TONIGHT AND ALSO RUNS AT PIMLICO!
Race 8 Pimlico 7.49 Set Piece (5/4)
Impressed winning at this level last year and looked to need the run returning at the top level last month only beaten 2 lengths at the line; hard to beat with that under his belt and no surprise to see him pick these up.
I’m expecting the class of SET PIECE to shine through here. His form last year stacks up and if back to his best after that reappearance he is easily the most likely winner. Atone hasn’t won since back in November but hasn’t been beaten far in defeat since so has to enter the reckoning. Likely needs more to trouble the favourite though. Beacon Hill missed just a nose on return at Keeneland and might be open to further improvement so may well emerge as the main danger. English Bee is pretty exposed and isn’t running well enough to spring an upset here. Novo Sol made a winning start Stateside but looked quite tired at the finish up in grade at Gulfstream last time so may be found wanting again here.
All bets Stateside on Saturday night
