MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 3 AT TOWNSVILLE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!

Race 6 Warwick Farm 6.45 Petulant (6/5)

Progressive filly who caught the eye on debut and has won her next two since again impressing at Wyong when last seen in January; given time to develop since and looks well placed to make a winning return here.

With Pike in the saddle there really shouldn’t be any excuses for the improving PETULANT at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. She looked a filly going places when last seen and with a Rosehill trial under her belt she should be fit and ready to do herself justice. Never Second is a bit more exposed in comparison but she has a nice profile with 4 wins to her name already. She has gone off the boil since that Gosford win though so will need to bounce back to cope with this favourite. Sneaky Paige was disappointing here last time but if she bounces back she might not be too far away. Very lightly raced so shouldn’t be forgotten about either. Curtis Island best of the rest but lacks potential to do better again.

Race 5 Doomben 4.46 The Catch (11/8)

Likeable type who looked to relish the step up in trip to win convincingly at Ipswich last time; chasing a hat-trick of wins now and remains unexposed over this trip so foolish to rule out further progress now; one to keep safe.

Definitely sticking with the progressive THE CATCH at Doomben on Wednesday morning. He has won 3 of his last 4 now and came into his own up in trip last time. Can definitely do better again and I’ll be surprised if he is beaten here. I thought he’d be odds-on so 6/5 definitely looks a good price at the time of writing. The Cullinan won at Sunshine but that was on Polytrack and this looks tougher so he is going to need more. Nishikori also in solid form right now with a win at Beaudesert and then a second last time so also has to come into the reckoning but lacks that untapped potential the selection brings to the table. Bentayga best of the rest but hard to see him or any of the others winning.
