MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT AND IS ON A FOUR-TIMER!

Race 5 Gosford 5.40 Superargo (6/5)

Promising type who was only beaten 3 lengths over track and trip last time despite beginning awkwardly; can improve again and won’t need much more to make the breakthrough; should take the beating.

Lots to like about SUPERARGO at Gosford overnight. He has shown more than enough to win a race as weak as this and really should be saluting the judge tonight. He will likely race handily and there shouldn’t be too many excuses. Kenzan was way down the field at Flemington when last seen and has enough to prove on return. Elegant Poetess is 0/12 including 0/2 over the trip and is another one who will need to better her latest run to get involved at the business end here. Croatian Madame has at least placed over the trip and may well end up being the one to chase home this favourite. Definitely a lack of strength in depth in this field though so don’t expect to see any superstars.

Race 4 Pinjarra 5.47 Too Much Talk (5/4)

Improving sort who went down just half a length at Northam on reappearance and with natural improvement he should take a lot of beating here; building a progressive profile now so expected to be the answer.

Unless The Illusionist is pretty smart first-up this will go the way of TOO MUCH TALK for Jarrad Humphries and Troy Turner. He is getting better with each run and only missed narrowly last time. He will improve again and is expected to justify favouritism here. The market will be informative in the run up to the race so always worth checking. Madame Wu has experience on side but she is 0/5 now and will need to progress again to take a hand here. Magical Gem hasn’t shown enough to be of interest but he will step forward at some point so worth noting how he gets on with an eye to the future. Orchilla looks pretty limited and she is hard to warm to even if improving it might not be enough.
