Race 1 Scone 3.40 Decadent Tale (11/8)
Promising mare who took another step forward to win convincingly at Port Macquarie at the start of the month; can improve again and looks worth keeping on side as she bids to follow up here; leading credentials.
With both Stella Glow and Stelitzia out now this is cutting up a bit and it represents a great opportunity for DECADENT TALE to win again. She impressed at Port Macquarie last time arguably looking better than ever and with further improvement to come after just the 10 starts she should prove hard to beat. She will sit cosy just off the speed before looking to pick them up late. Mojo Classic won at Dubbo and then was a good second at Newcastle so he is the obvious danger to the favourite. House Wins is quite the opposite to the front pair as he is massively exposed but still has to be respected as he has been largely consistent in recent times. Turnaround Time likely best of the rest but needs more.

Race 6 Pakenham 6.30 Maui (15/8)
Likeable type who showed a great attitude to prevail by a nose over C&D at the start of the month; eyeing up a hat-trick now and you’d be foolish to rule out more to come so gets a confident vote to come out on top.
The hat-trick seeking MAUI looks worth keeping on side at his beloved Pakenham on Monday morning. He is 4 from 11 over this trip including 3 seconds and is 2-2 here now. He looks on the up and should have what it takes to beat this field and make it 3 straight. Texcel is a decent yardstick and he has been running well at Sandown and Ballarat. Yet to try this track but if it suits he is the danger. Running Cloud is another one unbeaten here with 2-2 and 5 from 22 overall. A little bit exposed but arrives in winning form after scoring at Ballarat. Should go well too and likely nailed on for a place. Ocean Raider best of the rest but this has strength in depth so needs more to spring an upset.
