Smart type who has won 6 from 9 starts and is 2 from 4 over the trip; excuses when second at Doomben when last seen but did well to get as close as he did; more to come and should prove too good here.
Hard to look past GO WANDJI at Eagle Farm on Wednesday morning. This 4yo hasn’t done much wrong and has already won 6 of his 9 career starts to date. He brought up the hat-trick at Toowoomba and had excuses when only beaten narrowly at Doomben when last seen. He has been freshened up since and should take a lot of stopping again. The Lioness has won 5 from 10 starts and is a fair yardstick. She is the danger but will likely only be playing second fiddle if the favourite runs up to form. Acrobatic is only 5 from 21 overall and is exposed especially compared to the front pair in the market. Dusty Tycoon best of the rest but has a lot to find to get involved here as it looks a race with strength in depth.

Race 4 Balaklava 4.50 Covered Call (6/4)
Caught the eye to some extent finishing fifth at Murray Bridge last month and built on that to go close at the same venue last time; open to further improvement yet and can go one better here with a bit of luck.
I know COVERED CALL is still a maiden after 8 starts but he has a great opportunity here and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t take full advantage following that good second at Murray Bridge last time. He is obviously open to further improvement and will be hitting peak fitness now. Madam Prancealot is the only conceivable danger and that isn’t because of what she has achieved so far as she has looked pretty limited all in all but more if she improves from it as she has only had the 5 starts. Dixie Whistler was a solid third at Morphettville last time and that form would put her thereabouts in a race like this but I think she’ll need more especially to peg back this favourite who might be too strong.
