MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT GEELONG ON FRIDAY MORNING!

Race 7 Geelong 6.30 Bellman (11/10)

Likeable type who made a bright start winning at Hamilton on debut; did too much early when denied a head on final start as a 2yo; caught wide when third on return; should win this with the promise of more to come.

No surprise to see BELLMAN trading as a short priced favourite here. He looked potentially smart winning on debut and while he hasn’t backed that up since he has had excuses. He will strip a lot fitter from his reappearance and I’m expecting him to take all the beating here now. Swear By Her won at Pakenham on just her second start but has finished last at Ballarat and Pakenham since and this almost certainly requires more. Enough to prove on the balance. National Choice has just the 1 win from 13 starts so also needs more. The fact he is trading as prominently as he is in the betting tells you a lot about the lack of strength in depth in this race. Indented Head best of the rest.

Race 6 Muswellbrook 6.20 Denetta (6/5)

Progressive filly who needed the experience on her first couple of starts but since the penny has dropped she has looked pretty useful winning her last two; ran on strongly to prevail by a nose at Hawkesbury last time.

The hat-trick surely beckons for the improving DENETTA at Muswellbrook on Thursday morning. She has looked pretty smart the last twice and with further improvement on the cards can win again. The Chosen One looks the obvious danger as he has some solid form in the book and shaped better when third at Wyong last time. I’m confident the pair will battle this one out. Tupou finished last at Canterbury and has a bit to prove off the back of that. Patagonian has been a complete blowout the last twice and is another one looking to come out of the doldrums here. I can’t see it. Anubis is quite a big price but he himself also has to bounce back from a couple of poor runs at Tamworth and Coonamble latest.
