MY AUSTRALIAN NAP IS STILL CHASING A DOUBLE AND RUNS AT DONALD ON TUESDAY!

Race 3 Donald 5.00 Princess Nefertiti (11/8)

Improving mare who made a bright start despite breaking slowly to finish third at Stawell; progressed from that to get within a neck of victory at Mildura last month; more to come for sure and should prove tough to beat.

Great chance for the good looking PRINCESS NEFERTITI to make the breakthrough at Donald on Tuesday. She improved from her debut run to go close last time and with more to come can get off the mark. This isn’t an overly strong field and she is by far and away the most likely winner. Nijiko stepped forward to finish second at Coleraine last time and looks the obvious danger off the back of that. Double Rock should have a future after finishing third on debut but this is probably tough enough just second-up. Hayai Mesu was beaten 4 lengths on debut and can do better with time and experience on her back. Star Smash has had plenty of opportunities already and will likely find a couple too good.

Race 1 Beaudesert 3.07 Carlin Trend (9/4)

Promising type who let backers down at Goondiwindi but was right back on track going close at St George last time; obviously open to further improvement still so this looks a good opportunity to go one better now.

With just the two meetings overnight there isn’t too much standing out but that being said CARLIN TREND should take a bit of beating at Beaudesert. He was a good second last time and he wouldn’t need to improve much more to get back in the winners enclosure here. Cairndow won at Gatton but was then disappointing at Eagle Farm. If he bounces back he looks the one most likely to give the favourite something to think about. Redstone shaped better when fourth at Sunshine Coast and may well fare best of the rest. Sister Kathleen only has 3 wins from 36 starts so while she might run better than her odds suggest she is more than likely to ultimately prove a little vulnerable late on.
