NAP – My best tip of the day
Kempton 4.00 Willem Twee (6/4)
Improving colt who came sweeping through to win impressively at Doncaster and then followed up at the same venue on handicap debut last month; up 6lb but should keep progressing and likely to be finishing best.
The hat-trick seeking WILLEM TWEE holds an entry into the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot in October so he’d want to be winning this to have any sort of a chance of fulfilling that plan. There is no doubt he has the potential to be better than a handicapper having lengthened impressively to open his account at Doncaster and then backed that up with another convincing performance on handicap debut last month. He is a big horse who should continue to improve with racing. He is up 6lb but with plenty of pace on I think we might even see a better performance. Airshow is likeable and comes here in good form so he looks one of the dangers. Dream Composer is a C&D winner but needs to bounce back.

Chelmsford 6.55 Aphelios (15/8)
Likeable type who found again close home to get back on top convincingly at Windsor back in May; backed that up with an excellent second at Nottingham last time; can improve again for his new yard; big shout.
The front pair in the betting should battle this out and given I’m not completely sold by Open Mind coming back to 6f I think that makes APHELIOS a really strong play on debut for Mick Appleby. He is just the sort of horse that he does well with and I think he can get further improvement out of him given what we’ve seen recently. That was a likeable win at Windsor rallying bravely to get back up and then he bumped into Prince Of Bel Lir at Nottingham. The latter had it all go his own way and the selection briefly made a strong challenge before being given an easy time. If he steps forward again he might always have Open Mind in a spot of bother as that horse has looked very one paced at times.
