MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 9 AT MONMOUTH PARK ON SUNDAY NIGHT!
Race 9 Monmouth Park 9.15 Devious Dame (7/4)
Promising filly who made an eye-catching start bolting up by 5 and a half lengths on debut and then improved again to win head in chest at Belmont last time; sure to keep progressing so hard to beat once more.
The hat-trick seeking DEVIOUS DAME looks a filly to keep firmly on side at Monmouth Park tonight. She has won both starts with considerable ease and while this is obviously another step up she can improve again and I expect her to win this and remain unbeaten. Born Dapper stepped forward to get off the mark last time but that was on turf and she is unraced on dirt so has a bit to prove to mix it with the selection. Alma Rosa left her debut run miles behind to win by over 10 lengths last time and that was obviously very impressive but this is much deeper company and whether she can back that up in here asks another question. Shiny Slam possibly best of the rest having won on debut.
NB – Second best selection of the day
MY US NEXT BEST BOLTED UP OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT WOODBINE ON SUNDAY NIGHT!
Race 10 Woodbine 10.42 Moira (2/1)
Progressive filly who has won 3 of her 4 starts to date and couldn’t really have been any more impressive winning by over 10 lengths here last month; capable of better yet and should be finishing best of all late on.
This is a good race but it also looks a great chance for the likeable MOIRA to make it 4 wins from 5 starts. She bolted up last time and probably hit the front too soon. She has scope to keep progressing and I’m confident she can justify favouritism. Sir For Sure has a few of these behind last time so could be the danger. He is improving so is definitely respected. Rondure beat Duke Of Love and Ironstone last time and has won 2 of his last 3 so with more to come is another one that I expect to be in the mix at the business end of the race. The Minkster won his first 3 starts before blowing out last time. If you put a line through that he might be the one that is a little overpriced in here.
