MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT AND IS NOW CHASING A FOUR-TIMER!
Race 1 Gosford 3.45 Pharoah’s Reign (4/5)
Progressive mare who arrives here chasing a hat-trick after winning convincingly at Muswellbrook last month and then backing that up impressively at Newcastle last time; hard to oppose with more to come.
No surprise to see PHAROAH’S REIGN a warm order for this. She has won her last 2 now and looks to be improving all the time. She has only had the 9 starts so should be open to further progression. She has a good low draw and she should push forward. Lawyer’s Delight was building a nice profile before blowing out somewhat at Randwick. This easier but he has a bit to prove. Dragon Dream more exposed but finished last at Randwick and will need to bounce back to have any sort of a chance here. Writing Unexpected goes up to this trip for the first time following a poor run last time. He is pretty exposed so hard to see him stepping forward for the extra yardage in all honesty.

Race 9 Pakenham 7.30 Edith (6/4)
Unbeaten mare who made a bright start winning impressively on debut over C&D at the start of the month; sure to improve from that initial outing and very much one to keep on the right side of today and going forward.
This is a good race but I strongly fancy EDITH to make it 2-2. She looks an exciting mare and I loved the way she did it on debut over track and trip. She will improve and might have a bit of star quality about her. The Ballet Dancer is chasing a hat-trick and the penny looks to have dropped now. She is the biggest danger with more to come. Cuban State also won last time and is a solid yardstick but he might just be coming up against a couple of nice types here. Night ‘N’ Vegas won here last time too and she is best of the rest having only had the 7 starts to date. Dangers is consistent but only has the 1 win from 10 attempts which tempers enthusiasms somewhat for win purposes.
