Race 5 Hamilton 6.30 Morning Has Broken (10/11)
Improving mare who bounced back from a below par run at Bendigo to go close at Geelong last time; can build on that again given how lightly raced she is and should take a lot of beating in this field.
Great chance for MORNING HAS BROKEN to get herself back in the winners enclosure. She is building a nice profile now with 2 wins from 7 starts including 3 seconds and knocked on the door at Geelong last time. She won’t need to find much more to get her head back in front here so no surprise to see her prominent in the betting. Cyclone Tim has been around for what seems an age now and is exposed but his record at this track is 3 from 4 so definitely respected and looks the danger. She’s Enuff has a similar profile to the selection but completely blew out at Warrnambool last month and has enough to prove off the back of that. I’ll Be Gone best of the rest but we know everything about him.

Race 2 Yeppoon 4.34 Boom Boom Becker (11/8)
Likeable type who comes here at the top of his game having got back to winning ways at Mackay last month and then followed up at Bowen last time; more to offer yet so hat-trick looks to be on the cards here.
This might not take a great deal of winning so BOOM BOOM BECKER looks a standout to me. He has impressed the last twice and was firmly in command at the line again at Bowen last time. He has scope so could still improve again and if he does he should have this field covered. He tops the betting which is hardly surprising. Marway is a very decent yardstick with 13 wins from 37 starts – that is a great strike rate. He bounced back from a blowout at Townsville to finish third at Emerald and looks the one most likely to keep the favourite honest. Plenty is 8 wins from 49 starts but didn’t show a great deal when fifth of seven at Doomben last month and is going to need much more to spring a surprise here.
