Well bred filly who made a winning start at Haydock and was closing with every stride when denied just a neck in the Lowther at York last month; has the best form on offer and can improve again so obvious chance.

I was at York when QUEEN ME went agonisingly close to winning the Lowther. She looked a nice prospect winning on debut at Haydock and improved again to get within a neck of Group 2 success last month. She is clearly a filly with a great deal of ability and with further improvement on the cards now she should take a lot of beating here. She was closing with every stride last time and was perhaps a shade unlucky not to get there. She is bred to be smart and connections will be hoping for compensation here. The obvious danger looks to be Bonny Angel who made a winning handicap debut at Leicester and then followed up impressively at Doncaster last time. This is a lot deeper company now.

Catterick 4.40 Breckland (best price 11/4)

Progressive form since joining this yard winning 2 of his last 3; clocked a career best making most of the running over C&D 11 days ago, always doing enough; only nudged up 2lb so looks sure to go well again.

I liked what I saw from BRECKLAND over this track and trip last time and a repeat of that performance may well suffice here. He only missed out by a head at Hamilton before that and is arguably unlucky not to be coming here chasing a four-timer. The fourth Round The Island won his next start at Pontefract so the form has been franked since as well. The latter is in opposition again and might be the one to chase the selection home. At a bigger price Unashamed ran on well to force a dead-heat at Newcastle back in June before struggling a bit up in trip. If he comes back to form back down to 7f here he might run better than his odds are suggesting. Summer Secrets is another one worth noting.
