Race 7 Belmont At The Big A 9.07 Mckulick (10/11)

Progressive filly who looked good winning the Belmont Oaks back in July and then bumped into With The Moonlight when a good second in the Saratoga Oaks last month; still capable of better and the one to beat.

It’s a great night Stateside and I’m really looking forward to seeing MCKULICK in the Jockey Club Oaks Invitational. This filly hasn’t done much wrong with form figures of 132212 and she looked to be going places winning the Belmont Oaks back in July. She was beaten in the Saratoga Oaks but only lost out to With The Moonlight who is a very decent horse as well. She has only had the 6 starts and will improve again so looks the most likely winner. French raider Toskana Belle has won 3 of her 5 starts and could progress to be the danger but her form is quite hard to weigh up. Beside Herself is a little more exposed but won nicely last time. She was held by the fav earlier in the season.

Race 9 Woodbine 10.35 Modern Games (11/10)

Likeable colt who looked good winning the French Guineas at the start of the season; also won at the Breeders’ Cup last campaign; beaten less than 2 lengths by Baaeed when last seen; should take a lot of beating here.

Another horse I’m looking forward to seeing Stateside tonight in the shape of MODERN GAMES for Charlie Appleby. He was only beaten less than 2 lengths by Baaeed at Goodwood and if he runs to that level of form again tonight he should have too much for this field. He is obviously proven on these shores having won at the Breeders’ Cup last year. The danger is probably Ivar who showed a good attitude to win at Indiana last time. This is much tougher again though. Get Smokin was second to Casa Creed at Saratoga and if building on that won’t be far away at a bigger price. Finest Sound represents Simon Crisford and is another one that is expected to be battling it out for a place.
