NAP – My best tip of the day
Newmarket 5.20 Stormy Ocean (7/4)
Promising son of Frankel who improved to make all easily at Newcastle at the start of the year; shaped better than the bare result when third at Wolverhampton on handicap debut; given time since and still has plenty of potential.
The torrid run continues for the NAP sadly but I’m hoping I can get it back in the winners enclosure on Friday before potentially a big weekend! I really like this STORMY OCEAN at Newmarket. This son of Frankel was a promising third on debut as a 2yo and then ran behind stablemate Noble Truth next time out. He improved to open his account at Newcastle at the start of the year and then was beaten less than a length on handicap debut at Wolverhampton when last seen. Given time to develop and mature since he could be a fair bit ahead of his mark of 90. Gleneagles filly Value Theory looks to be the danger chasing a hat-trick. She impressed here last time but this does look a better race on paper.

Newcastle 6.45 Burning Emotion (2/1)
Progressive filly who caught the eye bumping into Pink Crystal at Thirsk and then improved to run on well and get back to winning ways at that same venue last month; up 4lb but almost certainly has more to come now.
This looks a great opportunity for BURNING EMOTION to follow up. She impressed at Thirsk last month beating Cobra Kai and has further improvement to come now. She had to overcome a positional bias the last day too so that can be marked up which makes me think a mere 4lb rise won’t be enough to anchor her. The danger is likely Mistrix who wasn’t disgraced when fifth at Thirsk having broken slowly. I expect her to run her race but perhaps just come up short. Serenity is lightly raced and will strip fitter from that reappearance run at Beverley. Piastrella won at York back in July but wasn’t at her best when third at Newmarket and is going to need to do better here to be a factor.
