MY NAP COULD REALLY DO WITH A WINNER AND RUNS AT NEWMARKET ON SATURDAY!

Newmarket 2.25 Meditate (best price 9/4)

Smart filly who won her first 4 starts before bumping into the exciting Tahiyra in the Moyglare last time; drop back to 6f should suit and with further improvement to come she should be really hard to beat here.

It was every yard a winning one for MEDITATE the last time we saw her over 6f beating Mawj in the Albany. She won a Group 2 in Ireland upped to 7f next time again going hard off the front. She then tasted defeat for the first time in the Moyglare but the winner Tahiyra looks hugely exciting and so that will likely still look a very good run in time. She has more to come after just a handful of starts and she looks the most likely winner to me. Trillium is a filly I like and she ran on well to get up late in the Flying Childers. I don’t think she has met a horse of the calibre of the selection though and while she might run well she might always be coming off second best. Treasure Trove looks best of the rest.

Newmarket 3.00 Marshman (best price 5/2)

Promising colt who made a winning debut at Ayr before hacking up impressively at Thirsk last month; bumped into Noble Style when second in the Gimcrack last time and that form sets a very good standard.

This looks a good renewal of the Middle Park but even with the quality on show I’m keen to stick with MARSHMAN for Karl Burke. This colt by Harry Angel looked something out of the ordinary when he bolted up at Thirsk and I rate Noble Style highly so that second in the Gimcrack was a good effort. He sets the standard on form and with further improvement to come should prove hard to beat here. Blackbeard is very talented and looks the danger but he can get worked up in the prelims which is far from ideal. Mischief Magic impressed again at Kempton and should run well too but this is tougher. Zoology looked a nice type winning on debut at Yarmouth but has been thrown in at the deep end.
