NAP – My best tip of the day
Ayr 1.44 United Approach (5/4)
Fastnet Rock colt who caught the eye running on strongly once he saw daylight to finish fifth on debut at Ascot; likely to improve with that initial effort under his belt and no surprise to see him serve it up to these.
The NAP looked to be home and hosed yesterday before getting grabbed late. I’m definitely knocking on the door now and I’m confident I’ll be back in form before long. I’m going to head to Ayr on Tuesday for my best bet and UNITED APPROACH looks a colt with a bright future. He ran green on debut and found himself behind a wall of horses. I liked the way he picked up in the closing stages and he was only actually beaten just over a length. He is sure to improve from that and this looks winnable so no surprise to see him favourite. The danger is Rez who lost out on the bob to Hougoumont at Pontefract. He is also going the right way but may just lack the potential the selection brings to the table.

Southwell 3.01 Dindin (15/8)
Very much back to form to win emphatically at Warwick last week, staying on strongly and eventually eased down at the finish; escapes a penalty for that and if in the same form will take a lot of pegging back in this.
This looks a great opportunity for DINDIN to follow up. He trounced an in-form rival to win by 13 lengths at Warwick last week and given that was a conditional jockeys’ event he escapes a penalty for it. If he is in the same form here he will surely justify favouritism? Phillip Armson claims a handy 3lb again and hopefully he can get him into a nice rhythm as that is when he is most effective. Ten Past Midnight is useful on his day and he will be the danger if taking to chasing at the first time of asking here. He might do better for the experience though. Fantomas was a fortunate winner at Uttoxeter a fortnight ago left clear 3 out. His mark is unchanged but still think he’ll need more in the cheekpieces.
