MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT MILDURA ON TUESDAY MORNING!
Race 7 Mildura 6.30 Jet Jitsu (best price 10/11)
Improving type who made the breakthrough at Donald back in August and then only went down a nose over C&D last month, given a lot to do; more to come yet and if he gets a god pace to target should be finishing best.
This doesn’t look to have a great deal of strength in depth so that makes JET JITSU a standout and that is very much reflected in the betting. Branders Rule ran well when third at Geelong on penultimate start but let backers down last time. At a bigger price Lady Silvair brings winning form to the table having scored at Warracknabeal last time but this is definitely tougher. She might be value to hit the frame though. Hamslette is starting to look exposed but on the pick of her form she would also have a squeak. Don’t Tell Sheriff has only had a handful of starts but finished last at Warracknabeal and would need to bounce back to have any sort of a chance in this even though it does look weak.

Race 3 Rockhampton 5.55 Montana Night (11/8)
Promising mare who has won 2 of her last 3 and was only denied a head on reappearance at Mackay last month; scope to keep improving and will be fitter so looks a good opportunity to get back to winning ways here.
Only a small field here but MONTANA NIGHT won’t mind that and she is by far and away the most likely winner. She is building a nice profile now with recent form of 2112 and she only missed narrowly last time. She can improve again and I’m surprised she isn’t odds-on here. Torbreck has won 2 of his last 3 as well and justified favouritism last time so looks the main threat. Knight’s Sword is chasing a hat-trick after winning here and at Yeppoon and also has to enter calculations. Five Star Decanter finished last here recently and has a bit to prove off the back of that. Champagne At Dawn has been disappointing since winning at Mackay and is another one with more to answer than most.
