NAP – Best tip overnight
MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT YORK ON THURSDAY MORNING!
Race 7 York 8.57 Arcadia Star (best price 1/1)
Promising filly who showed plenty of ability to make a winning start at Belmont last month, prevailing by a neck at the line; sure to improve from that initial effort and good draw here so should go 2-2.
With natural improvement I think it is hard to look past ARCADIA STAR at York on Thursday. She is clearly a filly with a great deal of ability to win first-up and with more to come can make it a perfect 2-2 here. She is drawn perfectly and there shouldn’t be too many excuses. Acefire also brings winning form to the table and looks the main danger. He has 3 wins from 15 starts and likely still has more to come so should run well enough. Carabinier is a little more exposed but does have 6 wins to his name so shouldn’t be entirely ruled out. Likely to give his running but hopefully in behind the selection. Kohli best of the rest but he will need to better what we’ve seen from him recently.

Race 5 Gosford 5.55 Edge Of Reward (best price 6/4)
Likeable type who ran some good races in defeat last campaign and given time since could have improved plenty; this is winnable so it might prove a good starting point before going on to better things.
Great chance for EDGE OF REWARD to make the breakthrough on just his fifth outing. His form from last campaign stacks up and with further improvement I’m expecting him to take a lot of stopping here under Koby Jennings. Dreambender ran well when third on debut at Hawkesbury and if he improves he looks the biggest danger in the field. Cassimir blew out somewhat on debut at Randwick but will find this easier and if leaving that behind might be best of the rest. Desi Emperor is yet to build on that Scone third and will definitely need more to be a factor here as the market looks to have it pretty much spot on. Sidenay will do well in time but definitely needs more experience on what we’ve seen.
