NAP – Best tip overnight
Race 3 Ballarat 4.30 Yaltara (best price 11/10)
Promising filly who failed to justify strong support on debut but looked to need the experience; said to have improved plenty since and remains a nice prospect so fully expected to win this.
Better was expected of YALTARA on debut at Sandown and while she fluffed her lines that day confidence remains high surrounding her future and this looks a really winnable race for her to get back on track. She has plenty of potential and it will be disappointing if she can’t take this out. Sojustkoby is making his debut and might be the one to chase her home but as of yet there hasn’t been any support for him in the betting and that will likely prove informative. Kulina is 0/8 but has finished second three times. She blew out last time so the two mentioned above will have to massively disappoint for her to spring a surprise. I’m Free is still unexposed at least but didn’t show masses at Moe last time.

Race 3 Port Macquarie 4.25 Jacenza (best price 6/5)
Improving fast having won both starts to date at Tamworth and Bathurst; well backed again last time and can keep progressing with experience so definitely one to keep on side; obvious chance.
The unbeaten JACENZA looks worth keeping on side again at Port Macquarie on Friday. He looks a nice prospect especially at this level and should justify favouritism once more. Abuela was a good second at Randwick on penultimate start but failed to back that up at Rosehill last time and comes here with a few questions to answer now. Paradise Island has recent form figures of 112 so also has to be noted but I do think she’ll find this tougher. Pendleton also looks a nice yardstick with recent form figures of 131 and could hit the frame but this does have strength in depth and the fav might just prove a cut above them. Alibi Dot Com won here in January but went off the boil after. Makes her reappearance.
