Sea The Stars colt who looked hugely promising winning head in chest at Sandown and then following up in Listed company at Salisbury; excuses when denied half a length in the Royal Lodge latest; can get back on track.
Charlie Appleby won this last year with Goldspur and he looks to have another promising colt on his hands in the shape of FLYING HONOURS. This son of Sea The Stars looked a horse going places winning at Sandown and then Salisbury before finding a tactically run Royal Lodge too tricky to overcome over C&D last time. That turned into a bit of a sprint and it didn’t suit but with a more honest pace on here we should see the best of him. He still brings a lot of potential to the table and should get back to winning ways. Mark Johnston saddles the most likely danger in Dear My Friend as he only went down narrowly in France behind Victoria Road and Blue Rose Cen and that looks good form.

York 2.05 Alpha Capture (best price 11/4)
Promising type who impressed improving from his debut run to win at Carlisle and then missed by just a short head to a subsequent winner at Doncaster last month; can progress again so definitely one to keep firmly on side.
Bolt Action hasn’t done much wrong chasing home Treasure Trove, Shouldvebeenaring and Prince Of Pillo before winning at Salisbury and will likely be hard to beat but I am going to side with ALPHA CAPTURE for Haggas. This son of Cotai Glory brings plenty of potential to the table and only missed out by a short head at Doncaster last month. The winner Cold Case has franked that form since and with more improvement to come I think he might be worth chancing. Rousing Encore chased home the exciting Sakheer in the Mill Reef and is also worth noting. Felix Natalis bolted up in Ireland last time and that was impressive but this is obviously a big step up on that so he will need more.
