MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 8 AT THISTLEDOWN ON TUESDAY NIGHT!
Race 8 Thistledown 9.20 St. Lukes (best price 5/4)
Promising type who left previous form behind to win impressively at Aqueduct when last seen; given plenty of time since and open to stacks of improvement so should take a lot of beating if fit and ready to go.
There was lots to like about the way ST. LUKES left his rivals standing at Aqueduct. That was back in December last year though so he needs to prove his wellbeing but if all is okay he definitely is the one to beat. He is open to improvement and this is a very winnable race to return. Diamond Money won nicely last time and looks the danger but he lacks the potential of the favourite. He’s A Believer has been running to a consistent level and likely won’t be far away again but surely vulnerable for win purposes? Of those at bigger odds Flying Guillotine isn’t entirely ruled out but he does look to have gone off the boil somewhat lately and was beaten 12 lengths when only fifth here last time.
NB – Second best selection of the day
MY US NEXT BEST WON LAST NIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 8 AT PHILADELPHIA!
Race 8 Philadelphia 9.04 Back To D’ Future (best price 2/1)
Improving filly who shaped with promise when third on debut and quickly improved to go down just a neck over C&D last month, showing a good attitude to battle through the line; can do better again.
The likeable BACK TO D’ FUTURE should be hard to beat at Philadelphia tonight. She missed just a neck last time and that was a big run in defeat. She will improve again and looks well placed to go one better now. She did finish behind Bruno Barber Girl on debut but that filly has been well beaten since so I expect her to reverse that as she is on an upward trend. Creative Copy was behind the selection but that was her debut so if she improves she might be the one to give her most to think about. Cocoa’s Vivian is unraced but the market isn’t shouting about her chance yet but definitely worth checking before the race as she could be a nice prospect. Desi’s Reward has plenty of ground to make up.
