NAP – My best tip of the day
Wolverhampton 5.10 Sir Winston (best price 6/4)
Churchill colt who was heavily backed on reappearance at Leicester but could only finish third; likely much sharper now and back on the AW off the same mark should be hard to beat here; worth keeping on side.
I have to admit I did expect more from SIR WINSTON at Leicester last time but in hindsight he did look a bit rusty back from 313 days off the track and if that has sharpened him up he will be hard to beat here off the same mark. He was only beaten 3 lengths or so and this is winnable so it’s no surprise to see him at the top of the market. Bora Bora made a winning start for this stable here when last seen back in July and could be the danger but it is a bit worrying we haven’t seen him out since. New Bay filly Trois Vallees has been pretty consistent but even with cheekpieces on for the first-time I think she’ll be left found wanting in the closing stages. Under The Twilight best of a poor rest.

Southwell 2.30 Chief Of Staff (best price 4/1)
Showed a good attitude to prevail over this trip on penultimate start at Lingfield last month, running on well at the finish; caught a bit wide at Chelmsford when only fourth but form franked; first-time visor.
A big gamble seems to be happening on CHIEF OF STAFF at Southwell on Thursday. He impressed winning at Lingfield last month and while he was beaten at Chelmsford last time that form has been well advertised since. He sports a first-time visor here and I know Saaeed bin Suroor has a good strike rate when he does that. This 4yo by Dark Angel could still have more to come so gets a confident vote to come out on top under Louis Steward. The danger is likely as the market is suggesting in Cooperation. He won twice at Nottingham in August and was back to form going down narrowly at that venue last time. If he runs to that sort of level here then he will definitely be involved.
