NAP – My best tip of the day
Newcastle 5.15 Kanakam (best price 5/2)
Lightly raced sort who caught the eye finishing third on handicap debut and then justified strong support to improve and win over C&D last week; turned out quickly under a penalty and more to come now.
The improving KANAKAM can strike again while the iron is hot for George Boughey. He impressed winning readily over track and trip last week and with further improvement to come now I think he can follow up. This is only his third start in a handicap so he could prove ahead of the assessor for a little while yet. Rocket Rod loves it here but he can be a tricky sort to catch right and I think he’ll need things to fall in his lap to win again especially off his current mark. Old News capitalised on a sliding mark to win over C&D last time but this race seems to have more strength in depth. Under Fox finally got his head back in front at Hamilton last time and is another one to note in terms of a place.

Newbury 3.10 Frantastic (best price 11/4)
Improved for the step up in trip to win at Newbury back in August; stiff enough ask up to a mile and a half in a strong race at Ascot last month; more to come upped further in trip and could prove too strong here.
This is a great deal easier than that handicap FRANTASTIC ran in at Ascot last time. This full brother to Cracksman definitely has more to come and in these calmer waters up in trip again I think we’ll see a different proposition now. He clearly has his quirks but as he showed at Newbury he is certainly capable. Beny Nahar Road was only beaten a length and a half at Kempton last month and looks a colt with more to come so I expect him to put up the most resistance. Juan Bermudez failed to fire to some extent when only fourth at Leicester but should have improvement to come but hasn’t been seen since April so might do better for the run. Tathbeet goes up in trip but has a bit to prove at present.
