NAP – My best tip of the day

Cheltenham 2.40 Pied Piper (best price 1/1)

Flashy chestnut who beat Vauban fresh last season before following up on the new course here in January impressively; excellent third in the Triumph and good attitude to dead-heat at Aintree; scope for further improvement.

It’s great to have Cheltenham back and that’s where I’m heading on Saturday for my best bet of the day. PIED PIPER managed to hold off Vauban fresh last season before bolting up by 9 lengths on the new course here in January. He ran huge in defeat in the Triumph and then dead-heated with Knight Salute at Aintree. He has plenty of scope so I’m expecting him to improve again and he should be able to get the better of the latter at this track. Knight Salute won 6 from 7 over hurdles last season so certainly shouldn’t be underestimated and will likely make a race of it. Doctor Parnassus retains potential but was down the field in the Triumph and might come on for the run here.

NB – My Next or second best tip of the day

MY NEXT BEST RUNS ON THE FLAT AT DONCASTER ON SATURDAY!

Doncaster 3.35 Auguste Rodin (best price 11/8)

Exciting colt who is arguably unlucky not to be coming here unbeaten having been hampered on debut; too good for them at Naas and then kept on strongly to follow up at Leopardstown; armed with a lot of potential.

Aidan O’Brien is chasing a remarkable eleventh success in this race and he looks to have an outstanding chance of landing that with the exciting AUGUSTE RODIN. This colt impressed at Naas and then took the step up into Group company in his stride to win at Leopardstown. He handles testing ground and his mother Rhododendron won in it so while it might not be ideal I think he’ll be fine on it. He is said to have improved plenty again and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet. Epictetus made a bright start winning on debut and then only missed by a neck to Silver Knott when last seen so looks a danger. King Of Steel has been pitched in at the deep end but looks a promising colt.
