MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT! I’ve just focussed on Newcastle overnight so that is where my best bet runs on Monday. Overnight Double pays 6/1!

MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT AND IS CHASING A HAT-TRICK NOW!
Race 1 Newcastle 3.15 Rockbarton Ruby (best price 6/4)
Tough mare who improved to open her account at Scone back in the summer; held her form well in defeat since and only missed narrowly at this track last time; if building on that should be good enough here.
With doubts over Casterton I’ve decided to just focus on Newcastle in Australia overnight and ROCKBARTON RUBY looks a standout on the card. She impressed winning at Scone and has been largely consistent since. This is winnable and she won’t need much more than that recent second to go one better here. Prefer To Be Ready has a similar profile and at least ran better than when disappointing here last month when fifth at Port Macquarie last time. If she improves she will be the danger but a bit to prove given present form. Wine Time is more exposed but has plenty of experience to draw on. She’ll need to better that last run but likely will do as this lacks any real strength in depth.

Race 6 Newcastle 6.15 Left Reeling (best price 15/8)
Likeable mare who took her form up a notch to make the breakthrough at Scone back in the summer and improved again to follow up at this track last month; disappointed at Warwick Farm but can bounce back.
I’m going to chance LEFT REELING bouncing back to her best here. If you put a line through that Warwick Farm run where she had excuses she should prove hard to beat. She was chasing a hat-trick prior to that blip and remains open to further improvement after just the 9 starts. Our Candidate is favourite at the time of writing but is a lot more exposed and I think might prove vulnerable. Dragon Dream ran better than he had been when second at Warwick Farm and is producing that sort of form once more should be involved at the business end. Consistency isn’t his strong point though given recent form. Mydeel has a good strike rate but failed to get his running last time for whatever reason.
