MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT ASCOT ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Ascot 8.30 Upper Limits (best price 4/5)
Promising type who impressed winning on reappearance at Northam at the start of the month; only beaten 2 lengths over C&D in a good race last time; this easier and can improve again so leading credentials.
No surprise to see UPPER LIMITS trading as a short priced favourite for this. He has improved with every run and that includes in defeat last time. He ran on strongly too having been given a bit too much to do and if he gets a good pace to target here he will be finishing best. Too Much Talk made the breakthrough at Northam last time but will need more to follow up here. The fav brings a lot of potential to the table. My Boy Chris was down the field at this track last time but is capable of better and is noted especially for place purposes. Vital Gem ran well at Northam on penultimate start but finished nearer last than first recently so like many in here has enough to prove at present.

Race 9 Bendigo 7.20 Toregene (best price 6/4)
Likeable mare who has won 3 from 4 now and really impressed back from a break to win on reappearance at Cranbourne earlier this month; open to further improvement and going to take a big performance to stop her.
Great chance for TOREGENE to make it 4 wins from just 5 starts. She is progressive and impressed winning with authority on reappearance. She can only do better again and this trip looks ideal for now. Sharp Response is a decent yardstick and will likely chase her home. He is 0/3 over the trip but does have a pretty solid profile overall. Real Sensation won at Caulfield last time and will also be a danger if building on that. A little more exposed but still respected. No Surrender is 5 from 31 but was only third at Cranbourne and will likely need to find more to trouble the principals. Intellective ran better than she had been at Horsham last time and might hit a place but that’s likely best hope.
