NAP – My best tip of the day
Chelmsford 8.30 Modaara (best price 5/4)
Dubawi filly who is a sister to Benbatl and was well backed on debut where she shaped with plenty of encouragement, beaten just 2 lengths; expected to be much sharper now and should take a lot of beating.
There was enough promise in the debut run of MODAARA to make her a strong play here. She was given an easy time of it when her chance had gone and with that initial experience under her belt she should be capable of making the breakthrough now. Idee Fixee also ran well first-time out to finish second at Windsor. With natural improvement he looks the most obvious danger. Night Of Thunder colt Whirlwind missed the break on debut at Lingfield but did some encouraging late work to finish third and looks best of the rest but we haven’t seen him for 6 months so he is entitled to come on for this. Golden Horn colt George Eliot is an interesting newcomer but he’ll need to be smart to win this.

Lingfield 2.15 Pherenikos (best price 11/8)
Shamardal colt who is a half-brother to Coroebus and ran a race full of promise on debut to finish third at Yarmouth, green throughout; should be a lot more streetwise so good reason to expect a big performance.
Inexperience got the better of PHERENIKOS on debut but given he is a half-brother to the Classic winning Coroebus he should improve a ton from that. He was only beaten a length and a quarter at Yarmouth and should put in a more rounded performance here. Exceed and Excel colt Berkshire Cruz might be the one to put up the most resistance having finished third on debut at Kempton. He has a first-time tongue-strap on now and should run well if stepping forward. Apex is a half-brother to Oscula and is another one that will likely build on his debut effort but he will certainly need to as the selection looks to have a fair bit of potential. Pumalin Park is an interesting debutant so worth a market check.
