Promising colt who is bred to be pretty smart and made an encouraging enough debut when fifth at Randwick on only start back in the summer; given time since and sure to have improved; should be winning this.

My Australian double was banked overnight so confident is high heading into Sunday. I know he is quite short but I think that is with good reason. ANNIHILATE showed enough on debut to make him a strong play here. He would have improved plenty and this is a good starting point back. I’ll be very surprised if he is beaten here and he deserves to be heading the market. Our Empress Zoe is second fav but she finished nearer last than first at Sale last time and is hard to recommend off the back of that dismal display. Daniher was midfield at Mornington last time and might be a greater danger. Fam Gorman was midfield at Moe and needs more. This lacks quality and won’t take much winning.

Race 3 Hobart 3.20 Eagle Street (best price 7/4)

Likeable type who deserved to get his head in front over shorter here at the start of the month; step up in trip should bring about further improvement and this looks a good chance to go and follow up here.

Now he has his head in front EAGLE STREET could really kick on. He showed a good attitude to assert last time and with further progress on the cards now after just the 8 starts he should be able to follow up. Chi Mazel is a likeable yardstick but he is pretty limited. He could run well without seriously threatening. Southern Wind finally got his head in front at Launceston last time and might be the danger if building on that albeit more exposed than the favourite. Coronation Apache is unexposed but needs to better what we saw last time as that wouldn’t be good enough. Real Monster ran well when second at Launceston last month but again this does look a tougher race on paper.
