NAP – My best tip of the day
Ascot 12.20 Scarface (best price 5/4)
Improving type who was only narrowly edged out here before being thrown in at the deep end in the Ballymore; back on track on return at Plumpton and should be hard to beat here given he is open to further progress now.
The improving SCARFACE looks worth keeping on side at Ascot on Saturday. This scopey sort made the most of a good opportunity on return at Plumpton winning by a wide margin and while this is obviously tougher under a penalty he is going the right way now and still has a fair bit of potential. He will eventually make his mark over fences but there should be some nice pots to be won with him over hurdles first. Gunnery Officer made a winning start under Rules at Warwick and could be the danger if improving again. Are U Wise To That also brings winning form to the table having made it 2-2 at Uttoxeter but he didn’t have to beat much on that occasion and will be tested here.

Haydock 12.10 Tahmuras (best price 7/4)
Promising sort who made all impressively to make a winning start over hurdles at Chepstow last time; needs to take another step forward here but clearly rates quite an exciting prospect and may prove up to the task.
I’m looking forward to seeing TAHMURAS out again as I thought he won in the style of a really promising horse on debut over hurdles. He still looked quite raw as well so is sure to improve albeit will need to hear but is one to keep on the right side of today and going forward. I know he likes to race forward and so does Snake Roll but I don’t think he has to and if he gets a lead he could even be better. Harry Cobden won’t waste his chance early so I’m not too concerned by that. Sizing Pottsie looks the danger as he won easily at Ayr on return last month albeit unchallenged in a weak race but he sets the standard so has to be respected. Ballyglass won at Uttoxeter but is definitely in deeper company here.
