Likeable type who quickly made up into a top novice last season winning his first 5 over fences including the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival; Aintree run best forgiven; can make a winning return.
The Rehearsal is always a good race and it’s usually won by a quality chaser. This year we have one of the best chasers around lining up in L’HOMME PRESSE. Venetia Williams’ stable star has missed a few engagements due to ground so I hope he runs here. I am usually against the top weight in this race but he could have far too much class and if near full fitness he should win this. Aye Right won this last year and rates the danger in a race that lacks depth this year. Happygolucky was a very good horse before being unlucky with injuries so I’m interested to see how he runs. At the bottom of the weights Into Overdrive is also on the up but this is a tough ask even getting weight.

Newbury 3.40 Amarillo Sky (best price 6/4)
Good looking sort who jumped rivals into submission winning impressively on return at Cheltenham; could still have more to offer over fences and a similar performance here would make him tough to beat again.
The way AMARILLO SKY jumped and travelled en route to winning at Cheltenham on return was impressive and up 4lb he looks the one to beat again if in the same mood here. He should still have more to come over fences and this doesn’t look a great deal tougher so I don’t think they’ll be too many excuses. He was highly tried towards the end of last season so no surprise to see him finding this level a lot easier. Only Money looked really progressive winning on return at Plumpton and then following up at Worcester and he didn’t do a lot wrong when third to Gunsight Ridge at Aintree. Could easily be the danger. Bun Doran needs to bounce back and Eclair D’ainay also noted.
