Race 8 Mahoning Valley 9.01 Empire’s Fire (best price 10/11)
Likeable type who couldn’t have really been any more impressive winning by 15 lengths over track and trip last time; won 2 of his last 3 now and can keep progressing so looks well placed to go in again tonight.
The improving EMPIRE’S FIRE should prove hard to beat at Mahoning Valley tonight. He blew rivals away last time and a similar performance here in a race that doesn’t look much tougher should suffice. Simon Says is still unexposed and has already won 3 races so looks the danger. He was beaten 4 lengths last time though so will need to better that to land a blow here. Susie’s Kid is pretty exposed and weakened at the finish last time so that would have to be concerning. To Win has knocked on the door since winning at Thistledown back in September. This still requires more to have a chance of coming out on top. Susie’s Kid has solid form to his name but again vulnerable for win purposes.

Race 5 Turf Paradise 9.31 Paynt The Kitty (best price 9/4)
Progressive mare who drew clear to win impressively over 6 and a half furlongs here when last seen back in May; open to further improvement now and doesn’t lack speed so should handle the drop back in trip.
Hard to get away from PAYNT THE KITTY at Turf Paradise tonight if she improves again. She won head in chest over further here when last seen in May and remains thoroughly unexposed so is open to stacks of improvement yet. She doesn’t lack speed so should bounce out and take a lot of catching. Heart On The Run has some solid form to her name but she has been busy for a 3yo and is going to need to step forward again to win this despite dropping slightly in grade. Sola has some good form to her name from last season but might do better for the run here seeing as we haven’t seen her on a racecourse since February. Youonlylivetwice had been running well but blew out last time.
