Race 5 Northam 8.30 Let’s Erupt (best price 11/8)
Improving filly who took a bit of time for the penny to drop but shaped much better when third at Ascot and stepped forward again when third at Belmont last time; more to come and should be hard to catch off the front.
The good looking LET’S ERUPT looks to be coming to the boil nicely now and I think this represents a good opportunity for her to make the breakthrough. She definitely needed her first two starts when failing to get competitive at the finish but stepped forward nicely at Ascot and ran right up to form when third at Belmont last time. She has more gears in the locker and given this looks easier she should have too much for these rivals. The second favourite Delta Anne is 0/17 and that probably says a lot about the lack of quality on show here. She hasn’t been running badly but needs more to get off the mark and I’m definitely keen to look elsewhere. Day Of Reckoning might make an impact on debut.

Race 7 Gatton 6.15 Kalana (best price 6/4)
Tough mare who has been knocking on the door in recent starts finishing runner-up at both Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast before finishing close-up at Doomben latest; this looks a really good opportunity on paper.
I know she only has the 1 win from 16 starts but even still KALANA looks to have the best form in the book here and she has placed 7 times along with that victory. She ran well at big odds at Doomben last time despite only finishing fourth and this looks a really good opportunity on paper to get back to winning ways. Memoire Parfait is 1 win from 7 and might be a greater threat. He is at least unexposed but did run a stinker at Ipswich last time. If bouncing back could run a nice race but likely still end up second to the favourite. Alludere is 1 from 26 with 7 placed efforts and might rattle the frame having finished second at Ipswich last time. Force Me was fifth at Grafton but needs to improve on that.
