Germany are yet to register a win at this World Cup but there was plenty to like about their late fight back against Spain and if they can beat Costa Rica convincingly in their final game they would give themselves a really big shout of qualifying. They sit bottom of Group E with just 1 point after that shock defeat to Japan in the opening game. Japan have to face Spain though and you would think they will need more than a point to qualify as Germany will surely look to hit a few past Costa Rica.

Costa Rica v Germany Preview

Costa Rica surprised everyone to bounce back from that 7-0 defeat to Spain to get all 3 points against Japan last time. That was a result that helped Germany hugely and it has given them a chance to qualify. Costa Rica will be encouraged by the fact they have found the net in 6 of their last 7 internationals. They only need a draw here though so it will be interesting to see how they approach this game. They are clearly a threat going forward so hopefully they try and play and make a game of it.

Germany have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 5 World Cup tournament games and that is concerning but given the way they played against Spain in the second half last time they should have too much. They have scored 6 in their last 4 international games and motivation will be high to win this and earn themselves a spot in the last 16 in Qatar.
