Group F has very much come down to this game with Belgium needing a win to go through with Canada unlikely to beat Morocco by a few goals. Belgium haven’t looked good at all and there seems to be a lot of tension in the camp. This isn’t a good formula to win or World Cup. Croatia have played this a lot more like a proper tournament and just need to avoid defeat to go through.
Belgium were lucky to win 1-0 against Canada who should have scored a few. They conceded twice late on against Morocco in a game that could have gone either way. Their ability to dominate games with the class they have is dwindling and I am sure they wouldn’t have wanted to face Croatia in a must win game.
Croatia controlled the 0-0 draw with Morocco but didn’t overcommit as they knew a draw wasn’t a bad result. They then showed their quality in beating Canada 4-1. They are a really well coached side and that will likely show against a shambolic Belgium side.
