Cheltenham 1.50
This is a really open renewal with all of these mares in with a chance. ELECTRIC ANNIE looks a decent each way play in the race after being dropped a few pounds for her first run of the season. She was a distant second at Kempton but I fully expect her to strip fitter for that run. With improvement likely she could go close off 108. The market is speaking fairly positively so that is always encouraging.
Hawthorn Cottage is the danger as she goes well at Cheltenham and suddenly found form on her first run of the season romping clear at Warwick. This is a better race but has to be a threat here. Of the rest Her Indoors could be handicapped to go close as well.
This looks the most competitive race on ITV on Friday but I do think UNDERSUPERVISION could go well for Nigel Twiston-Davies. When he is good he looks quite smart and he showed that bolting up at Doncaster back in March. He was held up and still made a couple of mistakes but came through strongly to win. Some of his form stacks up and he looks a decent each way play at around 8/1 at the time of writing.
Plenty of dangers but I am keen to oppose Commodore at the top of the betting. He is a 10yo now and often gets overbet. He was last seen running creditably in the Grand National but often finds one too good. Nassalam could be a greater threat.
Cheltenham 3.00
The market is headed up by some improving types with MULLENBEG a worthy favourite at the time of writing. She has won her last 3 against her own sex convincingly and this looks the next logical step with her. She ran well in a bumper here in April and has always looked like she could be classy mare. She has a 7lb penalty but if she takes this she will be going into graded races at some point this season.
The in-form Fergal O’Brien has the main danger in here with Punctuation who landed a hat-trick at Uttoxeter last month and will still have plenty to come considering that was his first run of the season. Of the rest Anyharminasking is still armed with potential.
Cheltenham 3.35
I’m looking forward to seeing DUSART out again at Cheltenham on Friday. This son of Flemensfirth beat subsequent Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory on debut over hurdles before finishing third at Aintree. He went over fences last season and looked even better winning 3 of his 4 starts. He showed an attitude to die for to get back up at Ayr on final start and remains open to plenty of improvement.
It is interesting he reverts to hurdles here but it is his first start since a wind op and given his record fresh I still fancy him to come through it. He is the class-act in the field and carries top-weight as a result but is a horse to keep firmly on side.
Friday’s ITV Racing Lucky 15
We’re in for a treat on Friday with some competitive action from Cheltenham. I’ve included four selections which I’m confident can give us a decent return when combined in a Lucky 15. Pays 850/1!
