MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT CANBERRA ON SUNDAY!

Race 2 Canberra 2.55 Semana (best price 11/8)

Good looking chestnut filly who made a bright start winning on debut at Muswellbrook last month and missed less than a length at Gosford last time; can keep improving for a while yet so leading claims here.

Great chance for SEMANA to make it 2 wins from 3 starts for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. She is a nice filly in the making and was well backed on debut before going close at Gosford. This is easier than last time and she will likely improve again so no surprise to see her top the betting. Mil Ciento is pretty consistent but with just 1 win from 8 starts that would be enough for me to oppose as there are improvers lurking. How Do You Sleep is even more exposed than the latter and was only midfield here last time so needs more on that to get seriously competitive. Keep It Down has some good form in the book and if returning to that Sapphire Coast second would have a squeak. The rest all need more.

Race 9 Pinjarra 9.35 Madam Kisses (best price 7/4)

Talented mare who impressed winning over track and trip on penultimate start and then acquitted herself well in defeat when third at Belmont; put away since and will improve plenty so should be hard to beat.

This looks a decent opportunity on paper for MADAM KISSES to make a winning return for Bernie Miller. She is a mare who could have a bright future and she already has 2 wins from 5 starts. She won fresh last time and seems to be well backed on return again here. Beauty In Me won at Northam when last seen back in the summer and if continuing that upward trajectory will be the biggest danger to the favourite. Captain Sharmane would have to be respected on her best form but she is 0/6 over this trip and that is enough to make her opposable. Invisible String is unexposed and has a similar profile to the selection but he was poor at Ascot last time and that would have to be a bit concerning.
