MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 9 AT CANBERRA!

Race 9 Canberra 6.53 Trooper Knuckle (best price 11/8)

Progressive sort who showed a good attitude to bring up a hat-trick of wins at Queanbeyan last time; only ever seems to do just enough but open to further improvement so likely hard to beat again.

Sticking with the thriving TROOPER KNUCKLE at Canberra overnight. He is getting better with experience and again was nicely on top at Queanbeyan last time. This looks another winnable opportunity and I’ll be surprised if he is beaten. Miss Ostend is a good looking mare who shaped better than her Warwick Farm run at Goulburn last time. If she builds on that again she could emerge as the main danger. Almost Persuaded has won 3 of her last 4 and also needs to be respected but she is more exposed especially in comparison to the favourite. Propose A Toast ran quite well at Canberra but then disappointed somewhat when down the field at Moruya last time so will need to better that form here.

Race 5 Orange 4.30 Listen To The Band (best price 11/8)

Promising type who returned from a lengthy absence to win impressively at Warren last time; clearly open to further improvement and still armed with plenty of potential so should prove a cut above; worth chancing.

Under aggressive tactics LISTEN TO THE BAND was an impressive winner at Warren on return. He clearly has plenty of ability and seems to be putting it altogether now. He is drawn in the box seat and will push forward and likely take a lot of catching. No Debt has won 4 times already and impressed again at Warren last time so looks the danger. If the favourite improves he will be playing catch up though. Kora Magic has just the 1 win from 16 starts but ran well when runner-up at Coonabarabran last week so also deserves respect. East Harlem is unexposed and won at Bathurst last time but this has a lot more strength in depth than that so he’ll need more. The rest are likely up against it.
