MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT NEWCASTLE ON MONDAY MORNING!
Race 7 Newcastle 6.30 Boss Shelby (best price 7/4)
Good looking sort who has gone agonisingly close the last twice and finds himself in an easier race now so obvious claims of finally getting back to winning ways; definitely worth chancing in a race that won’t take much winning.
The money has come for BOSS SHELBY the last twice and he has only narrowly failed to get the job done. He is still improving and these are calmer waters so there shouldn’t be any excuses. His overall profile is fairly promising and he should have these covered. Oblivion has gone off the boil a little but didn’t shape too badly when fifth at Port Macquarie last time. If he builds on that he might be the danger but I’m not hugely convinced. Remorseless has just the 1 win from 12 starts and has completely gone off the boil by the looks of it so needs to bounce back in a big way to land a blow. Drachenfels is hugely exposed but if bringing somewhere near his best might run well.

Race 6 Dubbo 6.10 Keep On Going (best price 15/8)
Lots to like about the way he got his head back in front over further here back in September and returned with an encouraging run when second at Parkes last time; will strip fitter here and can improve so big shout.
Another fairly big field but I make KEEP ON GOING a strong play for Stephen Edwards and Clayton Gallagher. He has won 2 from 11 so far with 3 placed runs too. He impressed over further here last year and that reappearance run would have been needed at Parkes. He will strip fitter and can still improve so should be hitting the line best here. Rubi Air won at Cowra back in the summer and has gradually improved in two starts back this season so if she comes forward again looks the danger. Brogans Creek is still unexposed and nocked on the door at Orange last time. Needs to find more but going the right way and should be in there pitching for a long way. Cumboogle best of the rest but will find this tougher.
