MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 5 AT TUNCURRY!

Race 5 Tuncurry 4.25 Dancedes (best price 11/8)

Promising filly who impressed hitting the line hard to make a winning debut getting up by a neck at Scone last month; sure to come on from that initial experience and looks well placed here to make it a perfect 2-2.

Plenty of runners here but I’m confident DANCEDES is the one to beat. She won at Scone despite looking far from the finished article and with natural improvement is expected to remain unbeaten here. De Lovely Lad won at Bowraville back in December but has been beaten 3 times since and this isn’t exactly any easier. I can see Scarzel proving a bigger danger as he won at Tamworth back in the summer and hasn’t been running badly. He was a bit disappointing on final start but given plenty of time since. Of the rest Bottom Bar is still fairly unexposed and hasn’t shaped badly the last twice so might run a nice race here.

Race 6 Bendigo 4.45 Smashing Eagle (best price 2/1)

Likeable type who left his debut run miles behind to win at Gosford back in the summer; capped off with a good third in a strong race at Rosehill and looks well placed here on reappearance to get back to winning ways.

Another big field but I really like SMASHING EAGLE and I think he can make it 2 wins from 4 starts. He clearly fires well fresh and brings the most potential to the table here. The second favourite It’s Kind Of Magic is a decent mare but she is more exposed. She ran well at Warrnambool last time though and if building on that second she should run a big race. Red Hawk has only had the 4 starts so better can be expected but his final start back in the summer was underwhelming. Zesty Belle was third at Warrnambool last month and could run well but she should strip fitter again and this is quite a strong race.
