NAP – My best tip of the day
Ayr 4.20 Ruby Island (best price 11/10)
Promising mare who improved to win readily here back in December and then progressed again to make it 2-2 over hurdles at Wetherby last time; more to come now and hat-trick on the cards up in trip.
I’m sticking with RUBY ISLAND to remain unbeaten over hurdles. She won impressively on debut in this sphere here back in December beating Thistle Ask (my Notebook today) and then improved to beat Hashtag Boum by 5 lengths at Wetherby. That is solid form and if she improves again up in trip she should have this field covered. The obvious danger is Windtothelightning who has also won her last two over hurdles. She is also going the right way and should put up the most resistance. Bridget Breeze has shown potential in bumpers winning on debut at Kelso. She likely has a future now jumping hurdles but should do better for the experience. El Poppochapo impressed winning here on penultimate start but was disappointing up in trip last time so has a bit to prove off the back of that.

Kempton 6.30 Mclean House (best price 11/8)
Good looking colt who caught the eye when third on debut and quickly improved to make the breakthrough over C&D last month; second has won well since to frank the form; should be hard to beat here.
Even carrying a 7lb penalty here I make MCLEAN HOUSE here. He improved to beat Naaser last time and that horse has since won impressively at Lingfield so the form certainly has substance. He should keep progressing with experience and it is no surprise to see him a warm order to follow up. Giant is also a nice looking colt and he seems to be the biggest danger in here. He won well at Chelmsford and if handling this track will emerge as the danger. Expert Eye filly Nuthatch showed a good attitude to prevail at Chelmsford and is another one that could run well but this definitely looks tougher. Lynwood Lad is a fairly intriguing debutant but there hasn’t been much money for him so far. Athene’s Kiss wasn’t overly taxed on debut so will do better but still looks to be up against it.
